Subject to Which Prophets?

‘For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.'  (1 Corinthians 14:31-33)

'When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.' (Matthew 16:13,14)

'Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God." And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy." '(Revelation 19:9,10)

John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah: prophets all. Their testimonies should remind us where our devotion should be. When one stands to speak in our gatherings, remember that the testimony of Jesus should be the intent.
