Speaking Evil of the Way Leaves You Behind

"And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples, he said to them, 'Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?' So they said to him, 'We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.' And he said to them, 'Into what then were you baptized?' So they said, 'Into John's baptism.' Then Paul said, 'John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they SHOULD BELIEVE on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.' When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Now the men were about twelve in all.

"And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three 

months, reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the 

kingdom of God. But when some were hardened and did not

believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks." (Acts 19:1-10)

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, BELIEVE ALSO IN ME. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know. Thomas said to Him, 'Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?' Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.' " (John 14:1-6)

"See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand! As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom (also, 
by which) the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 
(Galatians 6:11-14)

“And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God." (Galatians 6:16) The baptism of repentance turns you to Him. The baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus brings the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in Him, so you may boast in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. Walk accordingly and you will have peace and recognize His mercy.
