From The Beginning

"I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father. And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, BUT THAT WHICH WE HAVE HAD FROM THE BEGINNING: that we love one another. This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that AS YOU HAVE HEARD FROM THE BEGINNING, you should walk in it. For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we (you) do not lose those things we worked for, but that we (you) may receive full reward. Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son."
(2 John v.4-9)

Those "deceivers" and "antichrists" are preaching a different gospel and pervert the gospel of Christ. (Galatians 1:6,7)

"That which was FROM THE BEGINNING, which we HAVE HEARD, which we HAVE SEEN WITH OUR EYES, which we HAVE LOOKED UPON, and our HANDS HAVE HANDLED, concerning the Word of life--- the life was manifested, and we have seen, AND BEAR WITNESS, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us--- that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full." (1 John 1:1-4)

John declares what the deceivers and antichrists don't/can't because they haven't "worked for" it.(2 John v.8) They transgress (go ahead) and do not abide in the doctrine of Christ. Therefore they confess Jesus Christ from a carnal perspective. John requires that the elect lady, a picture of the bride of Christ, not receive them. Inquire of the Lord so you may hear, see, and bear witness so that your joy may be full!

Remember His Service

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin."(Hebrews 12:1-4)

"But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. For TO THIS YOU WERE CALLED, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that YOU SHOULD FOLLOW HIS STEPS: 'Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth', who, when He was reviled, He did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed."(1 Peter 2:20-24)

"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace."(James 3:17,18)

As we remember Christ's service for our sake, we must also understand our calling.
